In the current competition, international experts discussed and assessed 4,815 submissions from 53 nations. Only designs that inspire with quality and innovative strength, are awarded by the jury. The mini-PC from cirrus 7 computing was victorious and received the coveted Red Dot quality seal.
On July 7, 2014, the culmination of the internationally renowned product competition will be celebrated in Essen: the awarding of the acclaimed Red Dot as part of the traditional Red Dot Gala and subsequent Designers’ Night. On this evening, around 1,200 guests from all over the world come to Essen to experience the award ceremony. In addition, during the party the Red Dot Design Museum will open the winners’ exhibition, which will present the cirrus7 nimbus four weeks to a wide audience, before it is included in the permanent exhibition of the house.

With more than 2,000 exhibits on more than 4,000 square meters, the Red Dot Design Museum presents the world’s largest exhibition of contemporary design. The winning designs of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2014 will be shown from 8 July to 3 August 2014 in an impressive special exhibition. In “Design on Stage”, visitors experience the current top performances at close range, because touch and try is expressly allowed in the hands-on exhibition. The Red Dot Design Award
With the Red Dot Design Award, the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen created a globally renowned product competition. The award-winning products will be presented by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen for at least one year at the Red Dot Design Museum Essen.
In order to be able to professionally evaluate the variety in the field of design, the Red Dot Design Award is divided into the three disciplines Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept.
