The new cirrus7nimbus v2 is here. It’s more than just a processor upgrade to the latest Intel® Kaby Lake CPU. The greatest progress has been made in cooling performance. The closer cooling fins and six massive copper cores just above the CPU allowed us to improve cooling performance by 50%. Why massive copper and no heatpipes? Sintered heatpipes are much less efficient than solid copper for short lengths (<10cm). Furthermore, massive copper tubes have a smoother surface than sintered heatpipes, which are never perfectly round due to their internal structure. Solid copper pipes used in fits thus have advantages in the heat transfer to the cooling fins.
